Windows VPS for legacy .NET apps

Need a Windows VPS for legacy .NET apps and remote desktop access. Heard Server 2025 has better Hyper-V integration; worth upgrading from 2019? Also, how’s the performance for running SQL Server? Budget is tight, but I can’t risk downtime. Any providers known for stable Windows hosting without hidden fees?

Windows Server 2025’s Hyper-V upgrades are a game-changer for virtualization—support for nested virtualization and GPU passthrough. For .NET and SQL Server, prioritize hosts with dedicated vCPUs and SSD storage (like MangoHost’s Windows VPS). Avoid "burstable" CPU plans; SQL Server needs steady performance.
Enable Storage Spaces for disk redundancy without hardware RAID. Use Windows Admin Center for remote management—way lighter than full GUI access. For security, enforce LAPS (Local Admin Password Solution) and disable SMBv1.
Cost-saving tip: License included? MangoHost bundles Standard licenses, saving $50+/month, here’s their best Windows 2025 VPS . Test scalability by simulating load with SQLQueryStress. If RDP feels sluggish, switch to LiteSpeed or use a VPN for encrypted access.

Got a Windows 2025 VPS with dedicated vCPUs. SQL Server runs smoother than on Azure. Hyper-V hosts my legacy app VMs seamlessly. MangoHost’s included license saved the budget. Admin Center is gold! No more laggy RDP. Only gripe: Took a day to configure LAPS, but their support helped. Solid rec!
